The Sunshine Group is a series of four closely related fonts that combine a visual rendition of a bright noonday sun with Page No. 508, a wood type designed by William Hamilton Page of Norwich, Connecticut in 1887. Coastal is a typeface made up of 12 fonts, it is a display sans family with some cues that give it a fun looking and informal type family. I found this type specimen on the statue of Jan Hus in Prague’s Old Town Square. The statue was designed in 1903 by Ladislav Saloun, and its writing is the cutest Nouveau font I've ever seen. Filling in the blanks, I realized the need for a standard lower case because the caps are so wild. The result is a very type-able and dynamic Nouveau. This font is inspired by typography found on old German shop windows. It is a script font, but instead of imitating human handwriting and the gestures connected to it, the goal was to come up with a new writing flow and stroke order. As opposed to handwriting Latin script letters, which normally means drawing each character and then connecting it to the next one, the strokes of this font run across multiple glyphs. Intentionally, the design aims to achieve a flowing transition between each glyph without making use of contextual alternates, taking the limitations of classic machine lettering as a challenge.

Michael Gills, formerly a resident designer at Letraset, created the Fling typeface in 1995. Fling's letterforms are based on the Ronde --or round--script style from France. The design includes intricate and generous capital letters, which are contrasted with a more reserved lowercase letters. This allows for a sophisticated and elegant appearance in text. Fling's letterforms are highly legible for those of a script face, and it is a typeface with many uses. Aside from short amounts of running text, Fling's capital letters serve well as initials. In the Opentype font are extra ligatures and alternative letterforms thatoffer expanded typesetting possibilities.

Take The Money is a wonky all caps font, made with a Sharpie pen. The name was inspired by something I read in the newspaper: apparently a Danish artist received €72.000 from a museum to create two works of art. The works of art should depict the average income of someone from Austria and someone from Denmark - in real money. The museum then loaned him the €72.000 and told him he'd receive €3.300 for his work. The artist decided that €3.300 would merely cover the costs, so he delivered two empty canvases and called the work: Take The Money And Run.
